Chip Martens has over 25 years of experience litigating products liability, commercial truck wreck, energy sector and complex commercial cases. As an ardent consumer advocate, he has consistently demonstrated his ability to successfully represent his clients through trial. Chip began his consumer advocacy career as a co-founder and President of the Public Interest Law Society at his law school. He also worked for the Center for Auto Safety, a consumer advocacy group founded by Ralph Nader in Washington D.C., an organization that he continues to actively support.
Chip assisted Former National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Administrator, and then President of Public Citizen, Joan Claybrook, in preparation for her presentations during the September 2000 House and Senate hearings on Ford/Firestone. Chip also assisted in the successful representation of Consumers Union, the publisher of Consumer Reports Magazine, when CU was sued by Isuzu for its critical reviews of the Isuzu Trooper. Chip has litigated hundreds of automotive products liability cases, including a large number of the much-publicized Ford/Firestone cases. Chip is an active member of many local, state and national professional trial lawyer organizations, including the Attorneys Information Exchange Group, for which he serves as a member of its Board of Directors.
